The 2026 NATO Coordinator Rescue Forces course took place in Taranto 6-16 Jul. 10 students from Canada, Greece, Italy, Poland, Singapore, Spain and the USA were taught by experts from Italy, Greece, UK, and ISMERLO; a truly international event. The course consisted of lectures on SMER issues, including the medical impacts of a SMER event and specialist briefs from SMER Asset owners and culminated in 3 days of scenario training to bring all the theory together. Many thanks to our Italian hosts who facilitated a very well organised course. The international submarine world now has another 10 qualified personnel to support a DISSUB event, well done to all participants!
